FEDS JERK FORGIVENESS FOR RELIGIOUS RELATED WORK

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

The Department of Education has just published some new materials on details of forgiveness of student loans from work at public service jobs. http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/PSF.jsp

That included advice that forgiveness cannot be earned for work for nonprofits that includes religious instruction. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=49551

What is needed now are more forgiveness programs covering more people, not reducing them. Please help in our fight. http://lowerstudentloans.net

FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT ASSISTANT ONLINE

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

The federal government’s newly minted Consumer Financial Protection Agency has come up with an online student loan debt repayment assistant. Hard to tell at this point its potential for being a lot of help.  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/students/repay/

Save Our Students, the student loan borrowers organization, welcomes that new helping hand, but believes that the real crime in this instance is not one that is on the books yet for them to enforce. It is the nationwide practice of leading students and their parents down the primrose path into taking out student loans to cover overbloated school expenses, loans that those borrowers may have difficulty repaying.  Please join S.O.S. now and help. http://lowerstudentloans.net

DYNAMICS OF RISING COLLEGE COSTS

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

Posting in a blog of his The Center For College Affordability & Productivity, Richard Vetter discusses several factors that enable and encourage the rapidity of the rise in charges colleges make to students and their parents. http://centerforcollegeaffordability.org/archives/7703

Save Our Students, the student loan borrowers organization whose blog this is, strongly favors lowered charges as a means to correct part of the student loan crisis prospectively, although there is much more to be done. Please help us         http://lowerstudentloans.net

OBAMA’S HEAT ON RISING COLLEGE CHARGES LOOKS ABANDONED ALREADY

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Just a few days out of President Obama’s mouth, his announced plan for motivating colleges to hold tuition down by tying federal assistance to lowering charges to students appears abandoned already. College administrators don’t want the feds interfering with their raising charges and Republicans are willing to stop that from  happening.  http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jan/31/colleges-assured-tuition-cap-will-fail/?utm_source=RSS_Feed&utm_medium=RSS

Those charges to students and their parents do need to be lowered, and soon.  They cause student loans that are too high for the borrowers to  handle properly. That is a wrong to our intelligentsia and, in turn, to American society. As the borrowers become organized like the lenders and the educators, the politicians will listen to them more.  Please help us in this fight by joining Save Our Students free now.  http://lowerstudentloans.net
